In June 2003 AUSTIN INTERNATIONAL bought the assets of DYNAMIT NOBEL WIEN Gesellschaft m.b.H., the oldest Austrian manufacturer of explosives.
Since 1871 all kinds of explosives were produced in the St. Lambrecht plant. The new company AUSTIN POWDER GmbH produces with the experienced people of DYNAMIT NOBEL WIEN gelatinous explosives, emulsion explosives and ANFO for the local and international market.
Safety first - this is the most important issue of production, transportation and blasting operations. We are committed to be excellent in safety. And quality, of course. Every AUSTIN product developed at our R&D must pass through a severe quality assurance testing program before it is introduced into the market. AUSTIN POWDER GmbH is ISO 9001 certified and all products are type examined according to CE procedures.

AUSTIN POWDER Erects Most Modern Emulsion Plant in Europe.
Beginning of April 2010 the most modern plant for production of so called emulsion explosives started operating. Such explosives are used only in civil areas in quarries, in tunneling projects or as avalanche explosives.
Emulsion explosives have been used since the 80ies of the 20th century. They are safer in handling than gelatinous explosives (dynamites) and safer in production. If the blasting geometry is adapted to these modern explosives, the same result is achievable compared to the usage of conventional dynamites.
The plant in St. Lambrecht was designed and also mainly built by AUSTIN-engineers. Regarding the control system and safety devices this plant is the best which is available on the market in Europe at the moment. AUSTIN is in the position to produce in two shifts about 14,000 tons of emulsion explosives per year with an hourly output of nearly 100kg. Therefore we can deliver excellent explosives “State of the Art” to wide parts of Europe.
AUSTIN POWDER will also launch a new product line of emulsion explosives produced with this new plant soon. The name will be EMULEX. Even better, even stronger, even more price competitive is the slogan for this new brand.
